"Honey-Comb Carob... and Tea."

This is Alice Burdeu, past winner of Australia's Next Top Model.

Recently, I've been disturbed by the modelling industry. The focus is entirely on the outside - big surprise - but when you watch Australia and America's Next Top Model, it's mental torture for those who don't like conflict (i.e. me). The girls are catty jerks. The only compliments they get are on their bodies, how well they can "sell" themselves in pictures, whether they have the "it" factor (sexual appeal). This industry is so degrading, to both the model and the people seeing the model's work. It forces models to fit into a mold of perfection so they can use their bodies to sell products. It gives the women who see the advertisements a unrealistic "ideal" and a ungrounded dissatifaction with themselves. The Bible says God finds a quiet and gentle spirit beautiful, but this industry takes no part in encouraging that.

I found this video of Alice amusing in a sad way. When she's asked what she loves, watch how she mentions four different kinds of food and drink before mentioning her friends and family. Having to constantly watch what she eats has given her an obsession with food. That isn't healthy, either. I've gone through periods avoiding "bad" foods (there aren't any) and I can only imagine what it would be like to live like that.

Ouch.
