Put A Cork In That Blarney

This is a spy-hole view of Cork. Such a dear little city.

St. Fin De Barr Cathedral. It's was beautiful!

This was a picture of the last Judgement, with the angels separating the sheep from the goats.

Also gargoyles.

Cork at night, from nearby our hostel.

Then, abruptly, we went to Blarney castle.

It was actually very impressive

with very narrow, thin stairs. Winston Churchhill was one of the people who climbed these stairs at one point. That's a cool thought.

We were amazed at the size of the fireplace in the family room. I mostly put this picture in because of my dear Jak. What a treat, no?

We climbed higher and higher. Finally, we got the top and kissed the Blarney stone.
Did you know that blarney means talk that aims to charm, pleasantly flatter or persuade? Apparently Lord Blarney would do a lot of that because the queen said after a conversation with him, "He's full of blarney."

And thus the name was born.

I think they got my printed pictures mixed up with someone else's...

Actually, I really did kiss the stone, but I didn't manage to get a picture of it.

We went for a walk around the beautiful grounds.

It was a chilly day with plenty of cloud cover. Honestly, what is new? HA.

So we popped over to a cafe called The Lemon Tree and I had the best latte I've ever had in my life. It was also gorgeous and mesmerizing.

The end.
