Hunger Games

A little part of me is dying inside... because I saw the movie and it was so good that I never wanted it to end.
I wish the other movies would come out next week. I know some people haven't seen it, but I wanna say a couple things that hopefully won't give anything away.

This movie was one of the most satisfying movie interpretations of a book that I've ever seen. The director did a really good job of honoring just about every aspect that Sue Collins had in the book. In order to obtain the PG-13 rating, they danced a bit around the violence because the books are pretty violent.

The actors were top-notch. Ok, honestly, I didn't like Liam Hemsworth as Gale, but that's just because he was in The Last Song. Katniss and Peeta were so on target, both with looks and acting ability.

The settings and sets were mind-blowing. Everything either met or blew away my own imagination of it from the book.  Plus the costumes were totally legit and the way clothing is used to demonstrate social differences and priorities is brilliant.

The only thing I was sad about was the lack of time spent on the food. Sue Collins spread a tantalizing table in the book. I sorely missed a central dish of Lamb Stew with dried plums. I was definitely looking forward to seeing that. But all in all, it's not much of a complaint in the grand scheme of things.

Have you seen the movie? Are you planning to see it? Please tell me what you thought (or are thinking, even if you haven't seen it!) in the comments. I need people to freak out with.

  2. I don't have time to read the books. So I'm not going to see it until it's summer. My best friend and I decided that we're going to read the books t his summer, get obsessed, and then go see it. :D

  8. I read the first book two weeks ago or so, and sometime we (le famille) might see it. Sadly not everyone's read it. Also we might have to wait till it gets to our cheap theatre.

I'm worried I'll be disappointed... yay perfectionism. ^.^
